Lovely. I do find van Gough’s insanity very scary though.

Thank You so much for Your praise. But I have to contradict You: First of all I don’t quite like the word insane in this context. The boundaries between the so called sanity and the so called insanity are fluid and blurred But he even wasn’t „insane” in the old sense of the word. They found out now he didn’t have schizophrenia. Just a bipolar disorder. And he was very lonely, unhappy, extreme in his feelings and their expressions, not accepted either as an artist or as a person. If he had been „crazy“ he hadn‘t been able to paint the way he painted.

I have suffered from severe depression for the past 64 years. Thankfully unipolar rather than bipolar. While insane may be a strong description it has haunted and destroyed every aspect of my life. I find van Gough’s work almost as unsettling as Edvard Munch.

Van Gough’s art is so beautiful. Saw pieces of his work in France..have a copy “Starry Night “
